Green Wood Garden
Adventure Camp & Sustainable Farming

Green Wood Garden is a unique eco adventure and lodge in the remote monsoon forests of Maehongson. What's unique about Green Wood Garden is that such a small patch of open forest can offer so many amazing adventures! The Jungle Safari proves that point. Visit largely undiscovered Waterfalls , go Trekking and white water rafting through pristine jungle scenery, find ancient treasures in our cave systems and come eye to eye with Thailand's extraordinary diverse wildlife. There is so much more to this Country than just the reef and beaches and this adventure camp shows us exactly what so many of Thailand travelers have been missing; the diverse and exciting mainland and jungles. Be an explorer and discover this paradise before the rest of the world does!

LOCATION

The Camp is located about 15km north from Maehongson Town. Access to the camp area is only on foot or by 4WD. Keep in mind that the surrounding camp area and access paths are in National Park zones which are protected by the government from any hunting and logging. Due to this reason we are not looking at building a permanent road to the camp. Instead we use natural paths cleared by floods or fallen trees. In the rainy season access to the camp can be denied by flooding and can only be undertaken on foot.

FACILITIES

The camp is almost completely build with fast reproducing materials, which last only a few years and will then be replaced. Style and comfort of the facilities are part of the experience of being in a remote area. We took special interest to keep the buildings simple, traditional, adventurous and comfortable.

For groups we have  facilities which are set up upon arrival of guests. They include a stretcher bed shelter for up to 24 person including a stretcher bed, mossy net, sleeping bag and pillow. There are also separate large group style cooking areas and a meeting hut with table and benches.

The whole camp has 3 separate toilets and showers huts for guests. For large groups we have a separate jungle style shower screens and buckets. It would be too boring if the water just came out of a tap!!!

For small groups we have a small house with balcony and fire place that can accommodate 6 person in stretcher bunk beds. A second one is being build though. They both come with a stunning view.

There is also sleeping and cooking facilities for staff and tour leaders, a supply and storage room and a small shop and bar for all the needs a happy quest may have.

THE SURROUNDING AREA

There are numerous small trails going of in every direction from the camp leading to activities sights, hill tribe villages or waterfalls. Most of them can be explored without supervision. There is a 10m waterfall and swimming hole just 15m walk from the camp and a stunning 80m waterfall just 20min from the camp. The forest is still in a very good condition and inhabits many wildlife species that wait to be encountered. There is also a large variety of birds living in the watersheds just next to the river that feeds the camp site with water. You can find a large collection of identification and information books in our camp library.
